Building on the strength of the WS_FTP Server 6.0 Technical Preview Program (TPP), which was the most active and
successful in the history of Ipswitch with hundreds of active participants, we are kicking off the TPP for future releases of WS_FTP
Server with the brand new WS_FTP Server Web Client.
The TTP program allows participants to be among the first to try our new products and provide feedback on the upcoming
releases of WS_FTP Server and the new WS_FTP Server Web Client. This TPP is a little different than past ones
in that Ipswitch will be hosting the server and providing credentials to login and use the application. In subsequent
weeks the TPP will be expanded to allow you to download and install the application, but for now, Ipswitch will be
hosting the server.

What's New?
We’re super excited to introduce the new WS_FTP Server Web Client, a web-based version of the worlds most popular
file transfer client. The new browser-based WS_FTP Server enables authorized users to connect to WS_FTP Server
from any Internet connection.
- Runs on Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac browsers
- Easily upload & download files and create & delete folders on the remote server
- Use your existing web browser -- No software download required and absolutely nothing to install
We're also introducing a boatload of new security and administration features to the core WS_FTP Server product. TPP participants will be able to sample these new features in future TPP releases, including:
Security:
- Anti-Hammering: Identify, log and automatically block IP addresses that attempt consecutive failed logon attempts. Easily create black list rules to protect your server from denial of service (DOS & DDOS) attacks.
- Secure Copy (SCP): Support for file transfers over encrypted SCP connections. Secure Copy enables secure file transfers using the Secure Shell (SSH2) protocol.
- Configure Email Notifications for SMTP Server Authentication: Easily configure business rules to automatically authenticate and send email notifications when specified file transfer or server events occur.
- Enforce Secure Client-Server Connections: Administrators can require encrypted SSH or SSL client-server connections. Ability to force all clients to connect at SSH2, SSL v3 or TLS 1.0 or higher.
Administration:
- LDAP Authentication: Leverage external user databases to authenticate users, including LDAP, Active Directory, NT or an ODBC database for integrated and secure client login authentication.
- Runs on 64-bit Operating Systems: Support for Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, 64-bit Edition.
- Licensing: New licensing technology simplifies procurement and provisioning & keeps you updated when software updates are available.
Prizes: And as an extra incentive, the top contributor will receive a $500 AMEX gift card and the 2nd top contributor
will receive a $250 AMEX gift card when we launch the product. The winners will be determined by the Product Team at the
end of the Technical Preview Program and will be based on the interactions and input received from participants.
Here are some examples of active participation:
- Using the product - i.e. Using the product by uploading and downloading files using a variety of browsers and operating systems
- Participate in the forum discussions
- Provide input on features: Likes/Dislikes and alert to any found defects or usability issues
- Attend Technical Preview demos to see what else is coming and submit feature requests
Tell us your story for a case study and receive a $250 AMEX gift card!
We want to write a case study about how you’re using our file transfer products and the problems they’re solving. The
best TPP participant stories will win a $250 AMEX gift card, while supplies last. To learn more about the opportunities
