WhatsUp Gold v14.2
WhatsUp Gold v14.2 builds upon the feature set of the core product, offering enhancements in performance as well as improvements on three of the integrated plug-ins; WhatsConnected*, Flow Monitor and WhatsConfigured.
WhatsUp Gold v14.2 Features
- SSH Active Monitor provides the ability to have better control over a Unix, Linux, and other environments. The SSH Active Monitor lets you execute a command or script, over SSH, on a designated computer and interpret the returned results as an Up or Down state on the device.
- SSH Action lets you execute a command or script, over SSH, from WhatsUp Gold to a designated computer. The command can be any type of command that the computer can interpret and run. The commands can be basic Unix commands, Perl scripts, and other commands a user needs to execute on the computer. For example, commands that power on, power off, reset, shutdown, and snapshot devices.
- Blackout Summary Alert provides a summary report and notification for all devices that incurred state changes during a blackout period. This information is also available in the Alert Center.
- Multiple data points within a single performance monitor graph provides the ability to view multiple pieces of data for a single device on one graph. For example, you can view performance data for each CPU, memory type, or disk on a single computer; all on one performance monitor report. Multiple data points are available CPU, Memory, and Disk Performance Monitors.
Flow Monitor Enhancements
- Added support for IP Flow Information Export (IPFIX) UDP
- Added support for sFlow v2 and NSEL Support (Cisco ASA Firewall support)
- 95th Percentile Reporting to sample data at regular and frequent intervals of about five minutes for an extended period of time; for example, a week or a month. This method of measuring bandwidth allows bandwidth to exceed a specified threshold for a period of time, ignoring the top 5% of traffic. This reporting method can be used to help fairly compromise billing charges for network bandwidth usage.
- Flow Monitor performance and usability improvements
WhatsConnected Enhancements
- WhatsConnected Dependencies Export - automatically creates dependencies during export to WhatsUp Gold based on the WhatsConnected topology. During the export, an Up dependency is created in WhatsUpGold for each child in a parent-child relationship.
- Device Viewer - WhatsConnected information can be viewed directly in the WhatsUp Gold Device Properties dialog.
- Scheduled Discovery - provides the ability to configure recurring discovery scans and update devices that have been exported to WhatsUp Gold.
- Asset/Inventory Report - provides a view of the assets discovered by WhatsConnected as well as tools to sort and filter.
- Connectivity Report - provides a list of the devices connected to a network device as well as tools to sort and filter.
- Bridge Port Utilization Report - provides a list of the devices connected to a network device as well as tools to sort and filter.
WhatsConfigured Enhancements
- Added the ability to import and export custom scripts into the WhatsConfigured Task Script Library for use in WhatsConfigured Tasks.
- Added an Archive Search feature that allows you easily search for and view archived configuration files.
- Introduced the WhatsConfigured Policy Library and WhatsConfigured Policies that allow you to audit archived configuration files for expected and/or unexpected strings. Policies can be associated with Alert Center thresholds to notify you when unexpected strings are found in an archived configuration file.
- Added the ability to view detailed results for tasks that are run using the WhatsConfigured Task Library's Run Now option.
